Pardon my ignorance here, but any insights on why this plugin wouldn't be working with Zotero running on Linux?

May I know what Zotero version you are using? Zoplicate only works in Zotero 7 (beta).

If it still does not work, please check the Error console for any error messages about Zoplicate:

I will also test it on a Linux device.

I tested Zotero 7 and Zoplicate 3.0.1 on a Ubuntu 22.04 virtual machine.
And they are working well:
