Cannot register new passkey on webauthn.io using Brave browser

If I go to https://webauthn.io in Brave browser and try to register a new passkey, I am getting the following error message:

No availabe authenticator supported any of the specified pubKeyCredParams algorithms

But it works fine when I try the same using Vanadium browser. That's why I am pretty sure that I have set up KeepassDX correctly. Both browsers are selected as "Privileged apps" in "Settings -> Form filling -> Passkeys settings".

I am wondering what could be the reason why it does not work in Brave. Has anyone got passkeys working with Brave and KeepassDX?

I am using:

• Pixel 6
• GrapheneOS (Android 16, security updates from 5 December 2025)
• no Google services
• KeepassDX 4.2.4 from f-droid
• Vanadium 143.0.7499.146.0
• Brave 1.85.116 from their f-droid repo

I just tested it with Brave and I don't have any problems, so it's rather strange. Have you enabled “Settings - Autofill services - Autofill using another service” in Brave?

Yes, it's enabled.

In the meantime, I have found this issue. Looks like Brave requires google play services for passkey support.

Whereas Vanadium has:

Native Android credential manager support for passkeys to avoid needing sandboxed Google Play for passkey support

You must be right, the device I tested has Play Services and is a stock Android.
