Interactive Mode Demo

This shows what you'll see when running python3 run_interactive.py

Tips

  1. Start with one-time sync to see results quickly before setting up continuous monitoring

  2. Use specific event types (options 2-5) if you want focused intelligence rather than all events

  3. Adjust time range based on your needs:

    • 7 days: Recent competitive moves
    • 14-30 days: Broader market trends
    • 3 days: Breaking news focus

  4. Increase max articles for comprehensive coverage, but be aware:

    • More articles = longer processing time
    • More articles = higher API costs
    • Default of 10-15 is usually sufficient

  5. Continuous monitoring works great for:

    • Daily briefings (interval: 86400s)
    • Real-time alerts (interval: 3600s)
    • Background monitoring on a server

Environment Persistence

Your choices update the .env file, so:

  • COMPETITORS and SEARCH_DAYS_BACK are saved
  • Next time you run direct mode (cocoindex update main), it uses your last settings
  • You can always re-run run_interactive.py to change configuration
