Importing Kmz file with embedded images

I read the notice that you´re not so involved in the Qgis development. I got a little sad considering all the excellent support and attention you gave to this project.
Maybe it has time to ask how to can I import Kmz files with embedded images on it using the plugin. This file was generated by mapmaker app, which gives the following attribute structure:

If you use something like 7-Zip you can unzip the kmz file and see all the images. The problem with QGIS is that it cannot embed external files with the point layer so it is just a local HTML link to the image in the description attribute. I tried saving the results to a GeoPackage in a folder and then copied the "local_media" folder from the KMZ into it. I was trying to see if I could get the HTML Map Tip (right-mouse click on layer, select Properties and then Display tab) to display the image if I put the GPKG file and local_media files in the same folder. It didn't seem to work, but I also found that I cannot view the images with the Windows Photo Viewer. I had to use GIMP so perhaps that may be an issue as well. It may be that QGIS cannot view them. I don't know if it is possible to have the images displayed or not without modifying the HTML in the description attribute. I have not used the HTML Map Tip much.

I am considering retirement within the next year and if that happens I would probably be back more fully engaged with the QGIS community. I am currently limited with what QGIS support I can give.
