Crash just after loading screen due to `ERROR: Parameter "tex" is null`

Describe the bug

I had the same crash in both Steam and Flatpak versions. It occurs in new games and after loading existing save.

To Reproduce

1. Move to new patch horizontally, unlocking new region
2. Play for at least 1 generation
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 several times
4. Play for several generations
5. During evolution at some generation you will get the bug

Does it always occur? From the steps it sounds like this is a random issue that triggers after playing for some time.

Which would indicate that this is a random engine failure. The error is this:

ERROR: Parameter "tex" is null.
   at: texture_replace (servers/rendering/renderer_rd/storage_rd/texture_storage.cpp:1604)
ERROR: Parameter "tex" is null.
   at: texture_set_path (servers/rendering/renderer_rd/storage_rd/texture_storage.cpp:1658)

Which indicates a problem in the engine rendering part. If you switch Thrive to using OpenGL rendering (there is an option in the Thrive Launcher), it might do something to this, which could indicate that your Vulkan graphics drivers are the cause of the problem.

Yeah, I'm also getting this.
I was playing for like 2 hours, switching between different patches to keep the population up, and then the game abruptly crashes out of nowhere.
Later I load up again, and it seems to work fine, until I die and reload the save which then causes the game to get stuck on the loading screen.

I got this at the end of the undated-log
