Background tasks vs subagent?

What is the difference here? Is there possible to disable background and only uses subagent? It confuse me I cannot follow what the background task is doing and using subagent opencode let me into the subagent session.

From my understanding, background task is like sisyphus delegate multiple research agent and continue doing it's own work, but subagents is like once it delegate sisyphus-junior, it will stop until sisyphus-junior had done their own work.
