Avoid entering admin credentials each time in DROID

Hi,

I have a user that wants to use DROID and wanted to ask if there’s a way to avoid entering admin credentials every time it’s launched.

In our setup, we need elevated access to certain feature on devices, but having to enter credentials each time is a bit cumbersome.
Is there a way to configure DROID, so it can run without prompting every time?

Any advice or recommended approaches would be appreciated.

I am assuming you are running Droid on a Windows OS.

Droid, as an application, does not have any concept of user management, when launched it runs with the same privileges as a logged in user.

There are ways to create shortcuts or modify the batch file where you launch it with elevated privileges. Unfortunately I won't be able to advise much, as the solution depends on your IT policy rather than a Droid technical question.

@undamaged6 following Saurabh's comments as someone who has wrestled with this in past orgs -- when you speak to your IT department you might want to try and identify what policies are triggering the authentication procedure, for example:

• is it because write access is needed for the user profile?
• is it because DROID accesses parts of the file system?
• is it because DROID initializes a connection to the internet to check for updates?
• is it because DROID requires JAVA to run?

Depending on the answers, it could determine other ways of calling DROID or ways in which DROID could be modified (via feature request) to be even more "portable", i.e. requiring less access to the user's environment, e.g. enabling the configuration of a local runtime folder.

Also, are you in a UK Govt context, or a completely different context altogether?
