Fish incompatibility with MIRC 7.83 (READ FOR SOLUTION)

This is the bug I'm getting from Fish with Mirc 7.83

Is an update planned?

I don't use Windows any more, so I can't really check, have you made sure that:

• mirc.ini is configured correctly: load = 1 in [ssl]
• try latest OpenSSL DLLs from https://kb.firedaemon.com/support/solutions/articles/4000121705

Great, changing the libcrypto-3.dll and libssl-3.dll files fixed it ;) however, I can't find libcrypto-legacy.dll

Try to copy/rename x86/lib/ossl-modules/legacy.dll from openssl-3.6.0.zip into libcrypto-legacy.dll

Okay, I changed the 3 .dll files and I no longer get the error message when launching mirc. Is there a way to verify that everything is working? Perhaps via a command?

@flakes yes it works, but this is workaround and not proper solution. Mirc should normally load OpenSSL files from Windows system folder if OpenSSL is installed and renaming anything there might cause issue elsewhere. If you put static files inside Mirc folder you need always update everything twice and not many people do this. It means non updated OpenSSL files even if there are some already fixed holes. Please fix this properly. You can just install some Windows virtual machine even if you don't use Windows anymore.

@ask2018 mirc.exe now comes with built in openssl libs, which i guess causes this issue.. maybe you could 'just' fix it yourself, im sure a pr would be welcome
