We, as members, contributors, maintainers, and community participants, pledge to make participation in the NFTBan community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity or expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, sexual identity, or sexual orientation.
We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, professional, and healthy community.
Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive community include:
- Using welcoming and inclusive language
- Treating others with respect
- Respecting differing viewpoints and experiences
- Giving and accepting constructive technical criticism
- Focusing discussion on the project, its users, and its community
- Showing empathy toward other community members
- Helping others learn and grow
- Acknowledging and learning from mistakes
- Respecting project boundaries, maintainer time, and support processes
Examples of unacceptable behavior include:
- Sexualized language or imagery, sexual attention, or unwanted advances
- Trolling, insults, derogatory comments, or personal attacks
- Harassment in public or private
- Threats, intimidation, stalking, or sustained disruptive behavior
- Discrimination or disparagement directed at an individual or group
- Publishing another person’s private information, including physical addresses, email addresses, credentials, or identifying information, without explicit permission
- Deliberate disruption of project discussions, reviews, or community processes
- Spam, unsolicited advertising, or persistently off-topic content
- Repeatedly demanding help, access, responses, or attention in an inappropriate or abusive manner
- Retaliation against a person who makes a good-faith report or assists with an investigation
- Other conduct that could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional community
Technical disagreement, critical review, and rejection of a contribution are not themselves harassment when expressed professionally and based on the project’s technical, security, quality, or maintenance requirements.
NFTBan project maintainers and designated moderators are responsible for clarifying and enforcing these standards.
They may take appropriate and proportionate corrective action in response to behavior they determine to be inappropriate, threatening, abusive, disruptive, or harmful.
Project maintainers and moderators may remove, edit, reject, or restrict comments, commits, code, pull requests, issues, discussions, wiki edits, documentation, and other contributions that do not comply with this Code of Conduct.
When appropriate and reasonably possible, the reason for a moderation or enforcement decision will be communicated to the affected participant.
Enforcement decisions may consider:
- The nature and severity of the conduct
- Its actual or reasonably foreseeable impact
- Whether the behavior was repeated
- Previous warnings or enforcement actions
- Whether the participant accepted responsibility and corrected the behavior
- Risks to reporters, maintainers, users, or the wider community
This Code of Conduct applies in all NFTBan community spaces, including:
- GitHub repositories
- Issues, pull requests, code reviews, and discussions
- Official communication and support channels
- Project documentation and wiki contributions
- Project-managed websites and services
- Online or in-person community events
- Private communications related to project participation
- Public representation of the NFTBan project or community
Conduct outside official project spaces may be considered when it creates a credible risk to community members, materially disrupts the project, or directly affects participation in the NFTBan community.
Instances of abusive, harassing, threatening, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported privately to:
security@nftban.com — for Code of Conduct / community-conduct reports.
Security vulnerabilities follow a different, private process — do not disclose them in a public issue or mix them into a conduct report. Report vulnerabilities per SECURITY.md: a private GitHub Security Advisory (preferred), or email security@nftban.com with a [SECURITY] subject prefix. (Conduct and vulnerability reports may reach the same mailbox but are handled by different processes — the Security Advisory keeps vulnerability details confidential.)
Reports should include, where available:
- A description of what occurred
- Relevant dates or approximate times
- Links, screenshots, or other supporting evidence
- The community spaces or participants involved
- Any immediate safety or confidentiality concerns
Anonymous or incomplete reports may still be reviewed, although limited evidence may restrict the actions available to maintainers.
Reports will be reviewed as promptly, impartially, and confidentially as reasonably possible.
Information will be shared only with people who need it to evaluate the report, protect affected participants, or enforce this policy.
Project maintainers and moderators must protect the privacy and security of reporters, witnesses, and affected participants to the extent reasonably possible.
Good-faith reports will not result in retaliation.
Knowingly submitting a materially false report, fabricating evidence, or using the reporting process to harass another person may itself violate this Code of Conduct. A report that cannot be substantiated is not, by itself, a false or malicious report.
Project maintainers and designated moderators will use the following Community Impact Guidelines when determining appropriate consequences.
These levels are guidelines rather than automatic penalties. Depending on severity, context, risk, or prior conduct, enforcement may begin at any appropriate level.
Community impact: Use of inappropriate language or other conduct considered unprofessional or unwelcome.
Possible consequence: A private written correction or warning explaining the nature of the issue and the expected change in behavior. A clarification, correction, or public apology may be requested when appropriate.
Community impact: A violation involving a single significant incident or a series of inappropriate actions.
Possible consequence: A formal warning with stated consequences for continued behavior. The participant may be instructed not to contact specified individuals or interact in specified community spaces for a defined period.
Failure to comply may result in a temporary or permanent ban.
Community impact: A serious violation, sustained inappropriate behavior, repeated violations, retaliation, or failure to comply with a previous warning.
Possible consequence: A temporary restriction from some or all forms of participation and public communication within the NFTBan community.
During the restriction period, the participant must not attempt to circumvent the restriction or initiate prohibited public or private contact with the people involved.
Circumvention or further violations may result in a permanent ban.
Community impact: A pattern of serious violations, sustained harassment, threats, aggression, retaliation, deliberate circumvention of enforcement, or conduct that creates an unacceptable risk to the community.
Possible consequence: Permanent exclusion from public participation and interaction within NFTBan-managed community spaces.
A person subject to an enforcement action may submit one concise appeal through the reporting channel.
An appeal should identify:
- The decision being challenged
- Any material factual error
- Relevant context that was not previously considered
- The requested resolution
An appeal does not suspend an active restriction unless the project maintainers explicitly state otherwise.
Where practical, an appeal should be reviewed by someone who was not the sole decision-maker in the original action. When the project does not have an independent moderator available, the project maintainer’s decision may be final.
This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1.
