Batcher does not show in the Files menu.

What went wrong?

I am using Arch Linux. I installed Gimp 3.2.4 through paru. I copied batcher to both of the plugin folders that were listed in the program. It does not show up in the Files menu.

What should be the expected behavior?
It should show in the Files menu.

If you can, specify the steps to reproduce the problem.

Hi, is there any error output present in the terminal when you start GIMP?

Also, if possible, can you try installing GIMP via the official AppImage or Flatpak and see if it works?

One more thing I could think of - do you see Filters -> Development -> Python-Fu -> Python Console? If not, then that indicates missing Python and/or dependencies (such as PyGObject).

When I started gimp from the terminal, here are the errors messages that it said:

Since you mention flatpak, I was using Aurora OS, and the flatpak version did not see batcher either.

the Filters -> Development -> Python-Fu -> Python Console was there so I don't think that's an issue.

It worked in the appimage. Maybe there is a library of python or something that I am missing in the installation of CachyOS.

Thanks for the information. It does look like a problem with misconfigured installation or missing dependencies, although I'm not entirely sure about the root cause.

The env: ‘gjs’: No such file or directory message suggests the gjs package is not installed (you can check this via which gjs). Also check if the pycairo (python-cairo or python3-gi-cairo) and gir1.2-gexiv2-0.10 dependencies are installed.

Also, you only need to copy Batcher to one of the plug-in folders (preferably the one under the home folder).

I had installed the following plugins from the AUR:
gimp-paint-studio gimp-plugin-id-photo gimp-plugin-create-layer-mask-from gimp-plugin-contrastfix
I removed them with paru -Rns. The gimp program installed by paru saw batcher. I am wondering which one is the one at fault. I am going to installed one at a time and uninstall each plugin to see what happens. Will let you know after. Thanks for helping me.
