Design Context

Users

World Monitor serves people who need reliable situational awareness, plus paying desktop and API customers configuring access. Help and recovery flows must also work for non-technical subscribers who may already be frustrated or blocked.

Brand Personality

Direct, precise, and reassuring. World Monitor should sound authoritative without sounding bureaucratic, and should give a concrete next action instead of vague reassurance.

Aesthetic Direction

Preserve the product's dense, utilitarian intelligence-dashboard character. Guidance should be visually quiet, highly legible, and consistent with the existing interface rather than introducing decorative patterns.

Design Principles

  • Lead with the exact action a blocked user should take.
  • Distinguish similarly named products and credentials in plain language.
  • State irreversible behavior, such as one-time key display, before it surprises the user.
  • Make recovery paths explicit and safe; never ask users to share a full secret.
  • Keep help text concise, but link to a complete, searchable explanation.
