In HYCOM we find that using tidal boundary conditions on both SSH (bottom pressure anomaly) and velocity improves the tides. So you may want to try doing this in FVCOM and/or MOM6 to see if it helps. Velocity is tricky because the model and TPXO (say) have different bathymetries, so there are at least two options a) use TPXO velocities and b) use TPXO transports. In practice the difference between the two isn't large except in very shallow water. |

I can only use the sea surface height calculated by the tidal model tpoxv10 as the height of the free surface height (SSH) boundary, without paying attention to velocities and traces, because I only study tidal height (vertical direction) and not tidal flow velocity (horizontal direction),Can region-mom6 be achieved(Or the tidal velocity remains constant)
