Certain tool calls break thinking chain

Im not sure why yet I've only encountered it once and can't reproduce it, compact or clear seems to solve the issue

cc-relay is breaking with 504 errors after some work with Claude Code:

And my intuition observing this behavior multiple times is that the culprit is new content compaction process with Sonnet 4.6 and Opus 4.6.

It is impossible to recover from this error, when it once happens, other then starting new empty conversation.

The error is always preceded by unhandled calls:

hey @chew-z does the error msg get printed in the interface or the logs? that will help me diagnose the issue.

also u can pass --debug --log-format pretty --log-level debug these flags to the serve cmd for better logging

This is trace from nginx logs as I keep nginx over cc-relay on remote server.

I have added two line with transparent proxying of v1/messages/count_tokens endpoint and it have fixed problems for me.

mux.Handle("POST /v1/messages/count_tokens", messagesHandler)

in internal/proxy/routes.go lines 120 and 200 c.a.

Fixed the issues so far.
