Ensure setting "Sort tabs by most recently used on when search is empty and on popup " is on.
Repro steps:
(1) New instance of firefox
(2) Open new tab in firefox such that there are two tabs in the window
(3) Open a new window
(4) Click on (use) the tabs in the following order: tab 1 of window 1, tab 2 of window 1, tab 3 (only tab of window 2)
(5) Click/keyboard shortcut tab search
Expectation:
Order is Tab 2, Tab 1
Result:
Order is Tab 1, Tab 2. It gets even funkier with multiple tabs and multiple windows... can't discern how the list is sorted at that point, however I believe things generally work if it's just one window though I haven't extensively tested.
Impact:
Main use case this breaks is quickly switching between two tabs when the tabs are across separate windows. I use [(quick tabs keyboard shortcut) then (return key)] to quickly switch between tabs in separate windows (e.g. copy and pasting between chatbot tab and gmail, or quickly referencing something). Huge use case for me that breaks. Hoping it's a simple fix!
