Some features grayed out

First I'm just going to assume that my monitor is probably not support. It's just one of the portable ones off ebay/amazon.

But the "assign mouse events to" is blank and the "on finger drag" options are grayed out. I assume the first is due to it not finding the monitor?

Have you plugged in the touchscreen usb port to you mac? Can you show some pictures?

Yes, the USB cable is plugged in, and I have basic 1 touch control as if it was just a giant touchpad with single click.

Since this is going to be used on a late 2014 Mac Mini with MacOS 12, it has no USB-C ports just A ports. Don't know if that would make any difference or not?

It is odd that the screen has a usb-a port - usuall they are type b - what is the model number of the screen or do you have a manual to share?

So, the screen itself has a Mini HDMI and 2 USB-C 3.1 ports.

I bought this off eBay, so I'm not 100% sure this is the right one, but it looks close to it based off the eBay listing.

Hmm, that looks like it should work. What is shown in system information for usb devices?

It is connected correctly. What does the bottom panel show if you select the SiS HID Touch Controller? (your screenshot shows only partial information)

That is similar to mine so I do not know what else to suggest. Are you able to try it on a different computer?

All I have other than this is Windows, and it works fine there.

TouchUp has permissions to monitor the keyboard and accessibility. Should it have any other permissions?

This might be a stupid question, but do the drivers need to have permissions as well? MacOS is not my cup of tea. I'm only using it because an App that we use only works on the apple ecosystem.

Just accessibility permissions. Maybe create a new user, login with that and see if it works there.

I must admit that I have not tried touch-up with macos 12, but I can confirm that it works fine with macos 13 onwards. Have you considered upgrading?

Officially, MACOS12 is the last supported version for the late 2014 MAC minis. But I could try using the Open Core Legacy Patcher and see if I can get it up to 13

Indeed, I have systems that stopped at 12 but they are working well on 15 using OCLP.

Okay, I'll give it shot. Seems pretty easy to do. Though think I'll just go up one OS version to get to the 13

Okay, got it upgraded to MacOS13.7.8, the Touchup window now lets me choose what "One Finger Drag" does. Even with it set to scroll, it seems to still not work.

"Assign Mouse Events" is still blank but now has a green check mark. I assume that this should show the name of the monitor? Cause I think it used to when I had my none touch cable monitor attached.
