Need help changing my bridged Bluesky handle to my domain

Following these instructions I am attempting to change the handle paullieberman.org.web.brid.gy to paullieberman.net . I have set the DNS txt record and it passes the validation, but since I cannot actually login to Bluesky as paullieberman.org.web.brid.gy I cannot change the handle. I apologize If I am not understanding the instructions. Thank you.

Ryan, Thanks for the quick reply. I want to comment on how much I appreciate this service. I can't tell you how excited I was to see the first 'like' come back to my website from Bluesky. I may be asking for something that won't work, or may not even make sense to do. My website is paullieberman.org. I also use that as my Bluesky handle. I also own paullieberman.net so I thought maybe I could use that for the bridged paullieberman.org.web.brid.gy. But perhaps it has to be the same domain. Hitting the refresh 🔁 at https://fed.brid.gy/web/paullieberman.org has not done anything. It currently shows "profile refreshed 2 hours ago" but nothing has changed.

Ah! Sorry, I missed the .net vs .org in your original message here. Sorry, yeah, for bridged web sites, we don't currently support setting a custom Bluesky handle to a domain other than your web site's.

So what I could do, is change my default Bluesky account to the .net domain, and then use the .org domain for the bridged account. If I do that will I be able to actually login with the bridged account, or is it strictly an automated bridge?

I apologize in advance. I feel like a pest. I did successfully change my bridged Bluesky account to my domain, paullieberman.org, but it's not working out as well as I'd hoped. Now I want to change it back to paullieberman.org.web.brid.gy and I do not understand these instructions at all:

If you want to undo this later and change back to your original default handle, you can do it the same way. For example, if you're @user@instance.com on the fediverse, DM username user.instance.com.ap.brid.gy, or enter user.instance.com.ap.brid.gy into the form on the settings page.

If I go to fed.brid.gy/login , click the Bluesky icon, and enter paullieberman.org.web.brid.gy it comes back with

Hey, no worries! Happy to help. You want to log in with your Mastodon account, then enter paullieberman.org.web.brid.gy in the Set Bluesky handle text box on https://fed.brid.gy/settings , not at the login screen.

That just tried to create an additional Bluesky account with a new DID. What I'm trying to do is change the Bluesky account bridged from my website https://fed.brid.gy/web/paullieberman.org did:plc:6bfa5roxbvgykkw27grppyla from paullieberman.org back to what it was originally paullieberman.org.web.brid.gy . I want to be able to set my personal Bluesky account back to my domain paullieberman.org and then try Bridgy Classic to see if I can get webmentions back to my website. Thanks for your help

Ah damn, sorry, my mistake! Forgot this was from web, not fediverse. We don't currently have a self serve way to change a bridged web site's Bluesky handle back to the default web.brid.gy, so I'll do it manually for your site for now.
