This project documents the design and execution of a Beijing showroom developed for Hanssem. The goal was to translate Korean interior systems into a Chinese cultural and spatial context.
I contributed as a communicator and coordinator between the design and construction teams, supporting material selection, spatial planning, and on-site execution.
- Bridged communication between design and construction teams
- Interpreted cultural differences between Korean and Chinese users
- Assisted in material selection (curtains, marble, finishes)
- Supported spatial decisions based on lifestyle and cooking habits
- Supervised on-site construction progress to ensure design intent
- Cross-cultural design adaptation
- Kitchen and living space behavior differences
- Material and color preference translation
- Showroom experience and spatial flow
- Ability to translate design across cultural contexts
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Understanding of real-world constraints in built environments
- Sensitivity to user behavior in physical space
- Spatial Design
- Material Selection
- Cross-cultural Research
- Construction Coordination
This project was completed as part of my earlier design experience and reflects my foundation in spatial thinking, material systems, and user-centered environments.
